Ubbi World Diaper Pail Review

Let me start out by saying this is the ONE diaper pail that will work for EVERYONE. It doesn’t matter if you use cloth diapers or disposable diapers. This amazing diaper pail will work with either! How? It doesn’t take any special bags. You can use a cloth pail liner or a trash bag! So while the cost may seem a little steep, you don’t have to constantly buy special bags or liners. It’s compact, comes in many colors and designs to match any decor, and keeps the stink away! What more could you ask for?!

The Ubbi Diaper Pail comes in many different prints and colors- literally something to match any decor. We use cloth diapers so we keep ours in the bathroom and it looks amazing! You really can’t tell it’s a diaper pail at first glance. My MIL thought it was just a hamper!

It is amazing at keeping stink in the pail and out of your space. Our bathroom is really small so any kind of smell can really linger around. Fortunately we have not had any smell problems while using this pail, even though it holds poopy diapers for up to 3 days. I let it air out for a few hours when I take the diapers out to wash and even then, we don’t have any stink issues! (And I’ll admit that I have a really stinky kid!!!)

And did I mention that it has a child lock? I don’t know about your kids, but I’ve found sippy cups and toys in the diaper pail before…. And that’s just gross! It’s simple enough to do one handed and in a hurry, but small enough that kids don’t really go for it to figure it out! Score!!!

Newlie Co. Lily Tote Diaper Bag Review

*Please note: I did receive the diaper bag and stroller straps for the purpose of this review.
No other compensation was made. All opinions are 100% my own.*
Newlie Co. kindly sent me the Lily Tote diaper bag in the Sandalwood color for the purpose of this review. This diaper bag is not only adorable but super functional whether you have a newborn, toddler, or lots of kids! It’s made with high quality faux leather and makes me feel so stylish when I carry it! It’s super roomy on the inside and I can easily pack everything I need for the day out with the kids. It’s a very cloth diaper friendly diaper bag- that’s how much it can pack!!! There are 6 inside pockets so it’s easy to stay organized and find anything in a pinch! Because let’s be honest, most things done with kids is not slow, unless they’re looking for their shoes or cleaning their room.

This diaper bag has zipper pockets on both the front and back- they’re the perfect size for your wallet, keys, cell phone, and mommy essentials! I absolutely love that the bottle pockets are on the inside of the bag because it gives it more of a “purse” look than a “diaper bag” look. The Lily Tote also includes a detachable messenger strap so you can wear it over your shoulder cross-body. This is totally one of those bags that can be doubled as a diaper bag and a purse, or can be used as a purse after you’re done with the diaper days. I love nothing more than a bag that can be used for years!

Being a mom, doesn’t mean you need a pastel diaper bag with Winnie the Pooh on it. You can be both a mom and a fashionable you! When I carry this bag, it’s not only super functional, but it boosts my confidence! I feel like I look more put together, even if I’m just wearing leggings! 😉

Newlie Co. also sent me their stroller straps, which are sold separately. They are made of nylon webbing and faux black leather. These stroller straps are made for their bags, so they hold the bag well. But beware- don’t overload the diaper bag or your stroller may tip over if there’s not a baby in the seat to counter-weigh it! I’ve learned this from experience…. 😉 Overall, I really liked using their stroller straps because my usual ones just didn’t work right with the Newlie Co. diaper bag. While I don’t think stroller straps are a “must have,” I highly recommend them since they make life at least ten times easier when strolling. *photos to come of stroller straps*

AWE Süsse PD All-In-One Diaper Review

The AWE Süsse PD All-In-One Diaper was designed and created by three moms that decided to open an eco-friendly family store! Their store, AWE Süsse was named with their youngest children’s names in mind, along with their German heritage. They carry many of the brands we all know and love- but they also have created their own diaper!

About the Diaper

This diaper was designed with their babies in mind. It is easy to use for babysitters and daycare providers- but also absorbent enough for bedtime! The diaper has a PUL outer layer around French terry, to keep clothes dry. On the inside, you’ll find a layer of athletic jersey lining to pull the wetness away from baby’s sensitive skin. The absorbant stiched in insert is made up of French terry, organic cotton, bamboo and hemp. The insert is wrapped in organic cotton so only the softest material touches baby. With four rows of snaps, there’s many size settings to make sure your baby gets the best fit possible.

On to one of my favorite features: the rainbow snaps. We’ve seen rainbow snaps on Lalabye Baby diapers, and it’s one of their big selling points. The AWE Süsse PD All-In-One Diaper also has rainbow snaps to make diaper changes easy for other caretakers. Its super easy to grab a index card and color the outline of the diaper and then circle which color snap setting baby is currently fitting into. This makes it a million times easier to leave baby with someone that is unfamiliar with cloth diapering!

Want to use it on a newborn? This diaper also features an umbilical cord snap down! Because of the way the snaps are designed, you also have the option of a fifth rise to make it even tinier for the itty bittiest of babies! This diaper will start to fit around 8 lbs and fit until 35 lbs.

My Experience

I refuse to post about a diaper that did not work for us- because how can I tell you to use it if I wouldn’t? Well- this is not the case here! I love this diaper! It fits SUPER trim but it so absorbent. It even passed our bedtime test! 😉 Jackson seemed comfortable and his super sensitive skin wasn’t red, even after spending the night in it- which is a constant issue we have with using cloth for nighttime. The available designs are super adorable! I absolutely love the galaxy print: AWE Süsse Dreams. Isn’t it amazing?!

Overall- my experience with the diaper was fantastic. I love the elastics, the rainbow snaps, the materials used, and of course…. the absorbancy! This diaper is a winner in my book. I just wish I had a teeny tiny squish to try it on and see how it would fit on a newborn!

So now- a giveaway! You’ve seen what I like about the diaper so tell me in the comments- What’s your favorite feature of the AWE Süsse PD AIO diaper?

Please note: I did receive the diapers for the review. All opinions expressed are 100% honest and my own.

ezpz Placemat Review

ezpz mats have become a “must-have” product in my book for toddlers. We currently have the Mini Mat, the Happy Mat, the Snack Mat, and the new book- Making Mealtime ezpz: Fun Ways to Fill the Happy Mat.

Some of you may be wondering…. “What is ezpz?” ezpz placemats are silicone placemats marketed for kids that suction to most tabletops. These mats are made of food grade silicone that is BPA, BPS, PVC, latex and phthalate free.

ezpz placemats are super handy once your child has reached the age of eating food, but wants to play and throw their plate or bowl on the floor. The Happy Mat suctions nicely to tabletops, while the Mini Mat is designed to fit on most highchairs.

I will admit that I’m not a Pinteresty mom in any way, shape, or form. This is one reason why I love these mats. Jackson’s food can look so fun with very little effort. And let’s face it- kids seem to eat more when their food looks fun. I don’t understand the logic behind it, but we all know it’s true! These placemats are also dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and oven safe (up to 350 degrees) so cooking with them and clean-up are easy!

Jackson really likes to snack, but he doesn’t want to sit in his highchair during snack time. The Snack Mat has become a favorite, and was actually our first ezpz mat! I can put his snack in the bowl, suction it to our floating floor, and he can play while snacking- and I don’t have to worry about him just tipping the bowl over for fun!

Now this may sound silly…. But I’m a mom on a budget. These mats aren’t exactly cheap, although I wouldn’t say they’re expensive either. Because they’re made of silicone, they won’t show signs of wear. This means that they really won’t have to be replaced. The ezpz mats that I use for Jackson now, can be stored away for any future babies. It doesn’t hold onto bacteria either since it’s a nonporous material- and it also shouldn’t stain! (although, I’m sure cooking some red sauce in it may be harder to get out!)

We really like to take the ezpz mats with us when we leave the house. Jackson has used his mats at restaurants and family member’s homes. We put the Mini Mat into a Smart Bottoms wet bag and the Happy Mat fits perfectly in a Smart Bottoms On-the-Go wet bag. It really depends on where we’re going, what’s clean, and what we’ll be eating for me to decide which one to take. If it’s super messy food, I’ll take the Happy Mat (for example) because sometimes my Mini Mat doesn’t want to stick to all surfaces. If it’s somewhere that he’s eating chicken and fries or something just not messy, and maybe it’s a quicker meal, then I’ll probably bring along the Mini Mat.

You can see in the photo above that there isn’t much size difference in the actual plate portion of the mats. A Happy Mat’s portion sizes (designed with toddlers in mind) are 4oz, 4oz, and 10oz while the Mini Mat’s (designed more for infants) portion sizes are 2oz, 2oz, and 4oz.

All in all, I’m really happy that I decided to try these ezpz mats and I like that they do make my life a bit easier. Jackson also likes them and in reality- that’s really all that matters.

*Please note: I purchased the Mini Mat and Snack Mat myself. The Happy Mat and book were provided by my participation as a Guidance Guide Ambassador. All opinions are 100% my own.

Lanibaby Cloth Diapers

Lanibaby cloth diapers are still new to the cloth diaper scene. But let me tell you…. they’re gonna go far.

A little background info. Andrea was a cloth diapering mama that had a slim baby and couldn’t find many options for her son. He was also a heavy wetter- so much so, that she was eventually changing him every 45 minutes. And who has the time for that??? After trying different options for her inserts, different brands, and even triple stuffing her pocket diapers…. she was almost ready to just throw in the towel on cloth diapers. After talking to other cloth diapering moms, she found out that bamboo and hemp were a good combination, but the dry time just wasn’t ideal. The other obstacle was just his size- he was slim with skinny little legs. There needed to be a diaper that offered the natural materials but that fit around his little legs and fit with little to no bulk. Andrea decided that she needed to create the perfect cloth diaper system for her child. Thus, Lanibaby cloth diapers were born! 🙂

15145168_10154715701299282_1014716492_o 15127415_10154715701284282_953019581_o

Today. Hello Lanibaby, Heavenly Cloth Diapers! These cloth diapers are pockets with an opening in both the front and back. This makes life SO much easier when it comes to laundry. Because of the two openings, I don’t have to unstuff the pocket- my washing machine does it automatically when it’s agitating.

 15134203_10154715701269282_2029423085_o 15102118_10154715701279282_2104197037_o

Now… let’s talk about these inserts. You can see me freak out about them a little bit here. It was a live Facebook video and there’s a reason why I don’t do them often. #HotMessMom all the way!

The inserts are both bamboo and hemp, but they’re constructed in a way that the ends are sewn together, but the middle is open. This allows the smaller inserts to be tucked into the bigger inserts as an AWESOME overnight option but so that they also have a lesser dry time. No more two or three cycles for the dryer! 😉 The top layer is 70% rayon from bamboo, 30% cotton. And the bottoms layer is 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton. Talk about absorbency! Jackson can use the smaller insert through a nap guys- that’s amazing!

Lanibaby diapers are manufactured in China, in a warehouse that does not employ children, workers get vacation time and sick leave, and have normal work day hours. They do high-quality work and it really stands out with these diapers. These diapers are CPSIA compliant so they meet all USA standards for being used on children.

Now for my experience. Oh. My. Goodness. I could really relate to Andrea’s struggle with a tiny baby. Jackson is a peanut so having a diaper specifically made for slender babies has been life changing. With the smaller insert, I’m confident that he won’t have any leaks during nap time. And it passed my overnight test when using the smaller insert tucked inside the medium insert! Lanibaby just came out with a larger insert as well, but it was a little too big for me to use with Jackson right now. I do believe that it will come in handy as he grows; it’s a great option for bigger babies! Now… for the cute pictures! You can really tell that the diaper fits him well and that it’s not too bulky on his tiny body. This diaper really felt like it was made for MY baby!

Jackson’s First Birthday + A GIVEAWAY!

It happened- our little boy turned one year old. How did a year pass by so quickly? Honestly, he’s still a tiny baby in my eyes and not a toddler. I mean, he’s a peanut so maybe that helps a bit. He did, however, make it known that he’s officially a toddler. We have quickly learned that his new favorite hobby is unrolling the toilet paper… How toddler-like, right???

We celebrated his first birthday with our close friends and some family members, nothing too big. His party was Pumpkin themed, which I felt was fitting for an end of October birthday. I also found the perfect birthday shirt on Pinterest and we kind of based the party theme around it. You see…. Jackson’s bedroom is filled with tractors. And not just any tractor. It’s filled with John Deere green tractors. I found him a shirt that not only had pumpkins on it…. but there was a GREEN tractor pulling the pumpkins! Perfect, right? So of course, we had to incorporate the tractors into his party décor.

His smash cake and the cupcakes were pumpkin spice- because what other kind of cake would you have at a pumpkin themed birthday? I found some pumpkin cutouts and taped his 1-11 month pictures on them. He had some orange balloons, tractor balloons, a giant green 1 balloon…. Basically balloons everywhere. The decorations were simple, but so adorable.

jack-bday-8 jack-bday-4

He was so busy- I could barely get a “decent” picture. He was on the move! I’m not really sure how he had the energy to move, mister no nap. But you better believe he CRASHED after the party. Between eating his cake and no nap beforehand, he was a sleepy little guy.

It may have been Jackson’s birthday…. but the gift is for you! His birthday shirt came from Zoey’s Attic Personalized Gifts. This WAHM shop was opened in November 2006 by Erin Delanty. She offers many types of gifts from personalized shirts, totes, drinkware, and wall art. Jackson’s shirt is amazing quality- it washed up nicely and didn’t fade or shrink. Most orders ship within 1-3 business days which, in my opinion, is super fast for a personalized item!

Zoey’s Attic Personalized Gifts is being SO generous and has offered a $35 gift certificate to one lucky reader! This certificate can be used on ANY item in the shop. Cascade Platinum Review

I had the honor of trying Cascade Platinum dishwasher detergent. I usually try to steer away from chemicals in most of our household products but most of the natural dishwasher soaps just weren’t cutting it.

For this review, I threw a little get together with some of my cloth diapering mama friends. We say around to talk about the kids, the diapers we liked and disliked, and other things. Of course, I had to show off these tablets!

The evening before, I had made some delicious brownies. I let them cool overnight and transferred them from the baking pan to a pretty platter. I left the mess to show off the power of Cascade at the get together.

The ladies could not believe it. I rinsed it off, no scrubbing. I put it into my dishwasher while we continued to chit chat and play with the kids. After the dishwasher was done, I pulled the pan out, and it was clean! The ladies could not believe it!

Thanks to Cascade and Double Divas, these ladies also took home some Cascade Platinum samples and the rinse aid. 🙂

Diaper Dawgs Spray Collar

dd spray1

Just a few weeks ago, Diaper Dawgs made the announcement of another new product. It was kept secret for a bit and then once it was announced, no one had seen a real picture of this new product! Just a few days ago, Diaper Dawgs released a picture of the Diaper Dawgs Spray Collar. It will soon be made available for purchase to help you tackle the dirty mess that comes along with cloth diapers!

spray collar

The Diaper Dawgs Spray Collar is a food grade silicone funnel that attaches to most diaper sprayers. It was created to make spraying off the poop a little less messy. Instead of trying to take control from the diaper, they decided to try a different angle and take it from the sprayer. (Smart idea!)

dd spray3 dd spray4

The Spray Collar is light weight, durable, and matches the other Diaper Dawgs’ products! The best part, it DOES NOT affect your sprayer in any way. You can still hang it up with its hook, place it behind between the wall and the toilet (what we do), or whatever you do with your sprayer when not in use. The only thing that is different, is how you spray. Instead of spraying from afar, you put it up close. This keeps the back splash contained in the funnel and more pressure on the poop.

dd spray 6

All in all, I have found this to be extremely helpful. I think the Spray Collar would work in any bathroom but would be extremely helpful in smaller bathrooms or half baths. No extra equipment, no setting up or tearing down, it’s just ready to go! There are no nooks or cranies for pieces of poop to hide so it’s easy to wipe down with a Clorox wipe or sanitize it in the microwave in one of those steamers bags. I just wanna say good luck to the poopy water because it’s no match for the Spray Collar! 😉

BB-Cloth Diaper Review

BB-Cloth makes one-size pocket cloth diapers in a variety of fun prints, solids, and football team logos! They’re affordable and adorable. So what more could you really need?!

A little bit of background of BB-Cloth: This company was created November 1, 2013 after noticing the lack of football team cloth diapers on the market printed on PUL fabric. The company has since taken requests for new teams and other prints. Each design is their own and is made in a limited quantity.

bbcloth4 bbcloth5

Chevron is super popular in our house so this diaper is more than just a pretty design! This diaper also came with a bamboo blend insert. Their insert worked so well that I didn’t have to double up on inserts like I usually have to do with any other diapers. This made the diaper super trim and not bulky. I was very surprised that the one insert worked so well for Baileigh! I usually have a horrible time with new diapers because she’s a heavy wetter and it takes a lot of trial and error to figure out how much pee that particular diaper will hold and if it can withstand a long car ride or her 2 hour naptime.

bbcloth1 bbcloth3 bbcloth2

I was very impressed with this diaper. It is similar to an Alva diaper, but with higher quality. Since it does compare to an Alva, you could also use it as a newborn diaper folded like this.

BB-Cloth also has a variety of fun prints that have JUST been released! And aren’t they adorable???

Crunchy Moms Website Review

Babies don’t come with an instruction booklet…. although it would be pretty rad if it just came out with the placenta or something. Some moms go with the flow, while others spend day and night researching how often to feed a baby, what color poop is normal, and if those noises really did come out of that tiny baby. Luckily for us, all the useful junk stuff for babies do come with instructions. A small instruction booklet sometimes isn’t enough though. Sometimes you need to actually see whats happening on a person and not a drawing. That’s where Crunchy Moms comes in! Crunchy Moms is the kind of website that I hope Fluff Bum Babies will be someday…. (ahhh the dream!)

If you’re on the lookout for a “crunchy” product review, then you need to head over to the Crunchy Moms website. They have just about any natural parenting topic you would want to read about. Today, I went on their website and read about how to buy raw milk. Where can you find an article about that?! I’ve found a lot of other information on the site helpful as well. From pregnancy to parenting, they cover everything! Something I really like about their site: they aren’t just informative. Crunchy Moms also has a forum that members can post in and relate to each other. Yeah, you could get on Facebook but you may end up involved in a Mommy War with people disagreeing on your natural views on parenting. At Crunchy Moms, you’re all there because you are all like minded- wanting to research and go about this journey of parenthood with as much knowledge on the natural ways of living as possible.

As if reading all this awesome information and talking to other like minded mamas wasn’t enough, they also run giveaways regularly. They currently have a giveaway for a mini carrier- a carrier for your child to baby wear like you! And who doesn’t like to try and win free stuff? Entering a giveaway at Crunchy Moms means you’re also entering a giveaway for something you know you will end up using! 😉

Make sure you visit Crunchy Moms on their website HERE, their Facebook HERE, and their Twitter HERE and tell them Fluff Bum Babies sent ya!! 🙂

Reusable Snack Bags from ReUseIt

If you’re a crunchy mama, you’re probably looking at new things to try all the time that will help reduce waste in your home, save money, or will eliminate chemicals in your life. We switched to reusable baggies to mostly save money. Yes, plastic sandwich bags don’t cost a whole lot. But that price eventually adds up. Currently, my husband uses between 15 and 20 sandwich/snack baggies per week. When my kids start school, they’ll be doubling or tripling that number. I would have to buy a new box of bags every two weeks or so. And that’s ridiculous if you ask me. So after some discussion, we decided that reusable snack and sandwich bags would be the best option for our family… especially if we decide to expand our family at some point in the future. So I went to ReUseIt and looked at the different options. They have a ton of different options for a waste-free lunch. They have lunch boxes, lunch bags, snack and sandwich bags, food containers, bento boxes, napkins, utensils, cold packs and more. There are so many “steps” you can take to reduce the cost of packing lunches in your home. And ReUseIt is a great place to start. They have all these different options in a bunch of different brands. Here are the ones I chose to review:

itzy ritzy lunch bags planet wise lunch bag

I tried the Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens Mini Reusable Snack Bags (2 Pack), the Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens Reusable Snack Bag (not pictured), and the Planet Wise Reusable Sandwich Bag with Zipper. These a GREAT, QUALITY, bags. I like these bags because they come in a variety of fun prints, making it more difficult for a child to forget about them on the lunch table or accidentally throw them away. That makes these bags perfect for a kid-friendly, waste-free lunch! The zippers make it super easy for any age to open and close them without a hassle. No more pinching the ends of a plastic baggie to *hopefully* close them and pray for no leaks! These bags are leak free! I wouldn’t recommend putting an actual liquid snack or food in them… Let’s be honest here! But you can put in some fresh fruit or fresh veggies without any issues! 🙂

Glow Bug Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway Announcement!!

Glow Bug cloth diapers are made in China and the company is based in Canada. They are a great option if you are wanting to build a stash quickly because their diapers ONLY come in packages of 12. They do occasionally have Mini Bundles with only 4 diapers. I have found that if you are apart of a co-op, you may be able to find a group that offers them. And B/S/T groups are always a great option to find a single diaper to try before buying an entire package. Glow Bug diapers are one size pockets. They each come with two microfiber inserts that snap together and snap into the front of the pocket. The pocket is a little different because it opens at both the front AND the back. This makes stuffing the diaper a little bit easier! What really sets these diapers apart from others is the 360 degree gussets! Baileigh usually has solid poops so this doesn’t really do anything special for us. However, I believe this would be an AWESOME feature for those early, exclusively breastfed poops!!

glow bug 2 glow bug

I really like how different these diapers are. You’re not going to find a diaper similar to these and that’s really important in the cloth diapering world. These days, this diaper relates to that diaper and none of them are really unique. I don’t love every design that these diapers come in and the packages only option isn’t so buyer friendly. When you do divide the price between the items in the package, it’s an awesome deal. But you need to have that $150 to spend at that one time.

These diapers do hold a lot of pee and I believe that is greatly due to having two inserts. I have found these to be great during naptime, long car rides, running errands, etc. I also believe that this diaper would work just fine for a light wetter overnight. Here’s Bai with her classic pose for showing off her diaper:

Why I Love My Wrap: A Wrap Nap Fairy Review

Like cloth diapering, I feel like I went into the babywearing world a little late. There was so much to learn, so much to see and I was overwhelmed. I originally ordered a wrap from Etsy but after some back and forth with the seller, decided to cancel. I could not afford to spend over $100 on a wrap but I knew that a wrap was what I had wanted. I had stalked some b/s/t groups on Facebook, joined babywearing groups on Facebook and just researched and asked questions to anyone that would answer them.

Finally, someone had led me to Wrap Nap Fairy. These wraps are 100% linen and made by a WAHM. I looked at the color selection and decided to go with something neutral to go with whatever color I was wearing. Because I wear a lot of black, I went with the steel grey. Most people said that a good starting size was a 5 or a 6. Because I’m so skinny, I decided a 4 might be best to start out. I messaged her and placed my order. Within minutes, I had an invoice in my paypal for under $60 and that was including shipping! I was so happy to finally get my wrap. She had let me know that the turn around time was about 2 weeks. Of course, I was bummed that I had to wait that long but I was very appreciative of knowing this up front.

2 weeks passed very slowly, or at least in my mind it did! As soon as my mail carrier put it in the mailbox, I was getting on my shoes and walking out the door! I was so excited to get it!! I remember pulling it out of the packaging and noticing that it wasn’t soft and kinda scratchy. I immediately threw it in the washer with some towels to start softening it up. I put it in the dryer on Air Only so there wasn’t heat. To break it in even more, I looked up how to braid it. I braided it a few times before Baileigh woke up from her nap and we decided to try a few carries to see what would work for us.

I think it only took about 2 weeks to make the wrap nice and soft. I braided it multiple times a day, practiced different carries, and let the girls just run around with it. I’m very happy with how quickly it broke in. I’ve heard that wraps can be monsters to break in, especially if they’re new and you’re new to them too. It is very sturdy and does not have any sagging in the fabric. This was very important to me since I do have a toddler. Baileigh is 23 lbs and we can comfortably wear on the front or the back for an extended period of time. After breaking it in, it is not hard or scratchy. I think it’s actually pretty comfortable! There are some days that I’m cold and I reach for my wrap to wrap myself up in and get warm! I do not have much experience with it in super hot weather, but I d not feel overheated at all even when we’re both warm to begin with. I have comfortably wrapped her in the grocery store, the zoo, and even the pumpkin patch. Baileigh loves getting wrapped up in it and it can even hold my 3 year old just fine!!

I have a few more wraps on my Christmas list from Wrap Nap Fairy. If my husband gets the hint, awesome. If not… well, I’ll be buying myself a size 6 Willow or Pink! 😉 Please check out her Facebook page HERE if you are interested in wrapping. You won’t be sorry! Amazing customer service, great price and amazing quality! 🙂

Please Note: I purchased this wrap with my own money. No compensation was made. All opinions are 100% my own.

Sh!t No One Tells You: A Survival Guide for Baby’s First Year, A Book Review

When you experienced your first crappy pregnancy symptom, your birth was harder than you thought, breastfeeding left you with cracked nipples, or the mommy wars got you down… did you wish that some one would have you told you all this sooner?! Some things aren’t talked about because, let’s be honest, some women wouldn’t have babies if they knew everything that would happen! Is it worth it? Of course! But does is suck majorly????? OH YES!!!

Dawn Dais tells it like it is in this hilarious, but oh so true, book. The chapters have great titles like: Raid the Hospital, You Just Pooped Out a Baby, You’ll Be Blamed in Therapy Someday, and You’ll Probably Want a Divorce. I will admit that I am not a bookworm. It takes a lot for me to actually sit down and read a book. Finding the time is hard enough, but actually getting into a book is much more difficult. The last book that I was really into was the last book in the Twilight series in high school. Maybe I just don’t find the “right” books…. I don’t know. But this book was actually pretty good. It had me laughing, nodding my head in agreement, and smiling throughout the entire book. It was a book that I could read and still look up to make sure my kids weren’t destroying something or torturing the dog. She has very good points and good advice, like censoring your birth story. This is a must read for every mom! This could prepare a first time mom on what to expect in the “real world” kind of way and moms that have “been there, done that” can totally relate!
