Packing Your Hospital Bag- A Little Help from Push Pack

Packing your hospital bag can be really difficult. After all, pregnancy brain is totally real and you don’t want to forget a thing when you’ll be away from home for a few days. There are so many other important things to do and think about before baby’s big arrival. When packing your bags, Push Pack has you covered!

Push Pack is a pre-packed essentials bag perfectly created for your maternity stay when giving birth to your new baby. The Push Pack bag includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash, facial soap, lotion, make-up remover wipe, nipple cream, toothbrush & toothpaste, lip balm, deodorant wipes, razor & shave cream, comb & hair band, baby bottom balm, nail file, breast pads, maxi pads, disposable underwear, note pad, lollypops, snacks, mints, thank you cards & pen, and a “sticky-belly” baby milestone sticker. You can choose between three color bags: pink, blue, or green.

My Experience:

I had a Push Pack when I delivered Jackson and it made packing my bag SO easy! I was afraid of going into labor and then forgetting something important like my toothbrush or deodorant. I was able to pack my bag and the baby’s bag to leave by the door with nothing else to pack! When I went to the hospital, it was so handy to have! I remember using the lip balm in between contractions and sneaking a lollipop or mints in between my nurse coming in! πŸ˜‰ In my opinion, it’s a must-have for your hospital bag and would make a fantastic baby shower gift!

Lalabye Baby Cloth Diaper Review

lalabye

I’m doing something different for this Lalabye Baby cloth diaper review! There’s a video! πŸ™‚ Now, be a little nice because this is my very first video and I totally recorded it and messed with it about 20 times! πŸ˜‰

A few things I forgot to mention in the video:

  • Lalabye Baby diapers are made with TPU, not PUL. This is a higher quality fabric and is also better for the environment.
  • Lalabye Baby diapers should fit babies from around 6 pounds to 35 pounds.

Β And here are what some other people had to say about Lalabye Baby when asked what they like/love about them!

  • EVERYTHING!! I used to have a stash full of big name brand diapers but then I tried a lalabye thanks to spraypal and was immediately hooked. They’re super trim, bright rich solid colors and fun prints, LOVE the color coded snaps, 2 bamboo inserts, really great price, and most importantly an amazing momma behind the company! I sold off all of my name brand diapers to get more lalabyes and I couldn’t be happier!
  • Love the bamboo inserts and the trimness of the Lalabye. Great price for a quality diaper too.
  • This is our go-to diaper! Love the bamboo inserts, super trim fit, bright colors and contrasting snaps, the option to use it as pocket or ai2, the owner is SUPER sweet and I could go on and on! I have a 4 month old and a 2.5 year old and these diapers fit great on both! My 4 month old has been wearing them since 8 weeks and I was impressed with the fit. Love the color coded snaps as well, my hubby isn’t a fan of snaps but with the color system he can get a good fit without the gues work. Did I mention I love these diapers?!
  • I love how trim and absorbent they are! And who wouldn’t love all the bright fun colors.
  • These diapers are high quality with an affordable price tag. Trim, highly absorbant and super fun colors. We love them!
  • Great quality, love the overall look & fit… also that I can use as AI2 or pocket. And the wonderful all-bamboo inserts! Oh, and can’t forget the snaps. The fit my chubby 8 week old beautifully on 2nd rise from the bottom. I also feel that they are a good value because they are under $20 and include the 2 bamboo inserts.
  • I agree with everything previously said. Trim, super absorbent, great fit (I put one on a 5lb 14oz preemie), beautiful colors and prints, great price, quality product (unlike my big name brands who’s elastics haven’t even made it 9mos), the tpu is so soft, and I love the rainbow snaps! The rainbow snap system got my husband and mil on board with snap diapers! Also, the owner is a great lady who I love to support.

So you can see, Lalabye Baby Diapers are AMAZING! I urge everyone to just try one! You really won’t be sorry! Interested in trying one? Enter the giveaway below for a chance to win a $20 gift card just in time for their next stocking!! πŸ™‚

Diaper Dawgs Spray Collar

dd spray1

Just a few weeks ago, Diaper Dawgs made the announcement of another new product. It was kept secret for a bit and then once it was announced, no one had seen a real picture of this new product! Just a few days ago, Diaper Dawgs released a picture of the Diaper Dawgs Spray Collar. It will soon be made available for purchase to help you tackle the dirty mess that comes along with cloth diapers!

spray collar

The Diaper Dawgs Spray Collar is a food grade silicone funnel that attaches to most diaper sprayers. It was created to make spraying off the poop a little less messy. Instead of trying to take control from the diaper, they decided to try a different angle and take it from the sprayer. (Smart idea!)

dd spray3 dd spray4

The Spray Collar is light weight, durable, and matches the other Diaper Dawgs’ products! The best part, it DOES NOT affect your sprayer in any way. You can still hang it up with its hook, place it behind between the wall and the toilet (what we do), or whatever you do with your sprayer when not in use. The only thing that is different, is how you spray. Instead of spraying from afar, you put it up close. This keeps the back splash contained in the funnel and more pressure on the poop.

dd spray 6

All in all, I have found this to be extremely helpful. I think the Spray Collar would work in any bathroom but would be extremely helpful in smaller bathrooms or half baths. No extra equipment, no setting up or tearing down, it’s just ready to go! There are no nooks or cranies for pieces of poop to hide so it’s easy to wipe down with a Clorox wipe or sanitize it in the microwave in one of those steamers bags. I just wanna say good luck to the poopy water because it’s no match for the Spray Collar! πŸ˜‰

Ready to win one? Well, how about a litter of things? (Get it, Diaper Dawgs, litter, puppies? haha)

I have been taking pictures of our elf, Lily, to show you some of our fun ideas. I wanted to wait until closer to the end of the season to share them all, but I loved today’s set-up!! Lily brought the girls one of those indoor snowball fight sets. As soon as the girls saw it, they were so excited and so thankful. Aubrey just kept saying, “Oh, thank you Lily!! Thank you sooo much!!” How cute is that?!

Glow Bug Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway Announcement!!

Glow Bug cloth diapers are made in China and the company is based in Canada. They are a great option if you are wanting to build a stash quickly because their diapers ONLY come in packages of 12. They do occasionally have Mini Bundles with only 4 diapers. I have found that if you are apart of a co-op, you may be able to find a group that offers them. And B/S/T groups are always a great option to find a single diaper to try before buying an entire package. Glow Bug diapers are one size pockets. They each come with two microfiber inserts that snap together and snap into the front of the pocket. The pocket is a little different because it opens at both the front AND the back. This makes stuffing the diaper a little bit easier! What really sets these diapers apart from others is the 360 degree gussets! Baileigh usually has solid poops so this doesn’t really do anything special for us. However, I believe this would be an AWESOME feature for those early, exclusively breastfed poops!!

glow bug 2 glow bug

I really like how different these diapers are. You’re not going to find a diaper similar to these and that’s really important in the cloth diapering world. These days, this diaper relates to that diaper and none of them are really unique. I don’t love every design that these diapers come in and the packages only option isn’t so buyer friendly. When you do divide the price between the items in the package, it’s an awesome deal. But you need to have that $150 to spend at that one time.

These diapers do hold a lot of pee and I believe that is greatly due to having two inserts. I have found these to be great during naptime, long car rides, running errands, etc. I also believe that this diaper would work just fine for a light wetter overnight. Here’s Bai with her classic pose for showing off her diaper:

And I def found a new favorite snack!! The Tuxedo popcorn was AMAZING and I absolutely loved the Sweet Potato Chips!! There was a great variety and I have been thinking about getting another box! If you REALLY like something, you can also purchase that item from their website. It really is a neat program. Even better? For every box they send, they donate a meal to a hungry child. So not only are you getting new and different snacks in the mail, you’re helping a good cause! Here’s How It Works direct from their website:

lwfI was very impressed with this box. I shared almost everything with the kids and hubby so I could see exactly how “family friendly” this box was. GroVia AIO Cloth Diaper Review

I recently had the opportunity of reviewing a GroVia All-In-One Cloth Diaper. This was my first time using an AIO and I was pretty excited to try a different style of cloth diaper. GroVia is a pretty well known cloth diaper company that manufacturers All-In-Ones, Hybrids, Trainers, Prefolds, Cloth Wipes, Cloth SAfe Diaper Balm, Laundry Detergent and other cloth diapering accessories. Their soakers are made out of organic cotton and the diapers snap differently than any other diaper I have tried before!

grovia design groviagrovia soaker pad

GroVia’s diapers come in solid colors and in a few cute designs. Most designs are gender neutral and I really like that. However, when I was asked which design I would like, one of their newer prints, Poppy, called my name! I thought it was absolutely adorable and that Miss Bai would look so cute in it! And boy, was I right!!

bai in grovi bai in grovia

The lighting wasn’t too good when I took these pictures so they don’t do this diaper justice! It is a one size diaper and they also make a newborn diaper similar to these. Of course, Baileigh needed to show off her diaper by putting her bum in the air…. like always!! πŸ™‚

bai in grov

Here is a picture that better shows the way the snaps work. They are more on the hips and “backwards” from other diapers.

This diaper worked very well for us during the day and at naptimes. However, I did try it at bedtime and it did leak. Baileigh is a heavy wetter and I have mentioned numerous times that I am always looking for a good overnight solution. I do believe, however, that if I had purchased a few boosters to place inside the diaper, she would have had a lesser chance of leaks. These diapers are very trim and slim so there is no need to go up a size in pants and you don’t have the usual big fluff bum like a lot of other cloth diapers. The different snaps were very different to me and after using them for a few weeks, I’m still figuring out the best setting and the easiest way to actually put these on with a squirmy toddler. If I had to give this diaper a rating on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being a horrible diaper and 5 being one of the best, I would have to give it a 4. I like how trim it is, the designs and color choices are nice, and it is super easy to wash. I had no real problems with GroVia’s AIO diaper. You can purchase this diaper at most online cloth diaper stores, or from GroVia themselves. They also are available in packages so you can get the best bang for your buck. I think that everyone should at least try this diaper because of how different it is.

If you are interested in purchasing one of these diapers, click the banner below. You can also enter the Thanksgiving Celebration Giveaway here for the chance to win one as well.

Why I Love Cloth Diapers

It is no secret that we cloth diaper. After all, that was a main reason why I even started the blog!! Cloth diapers have been a life changer in more ways than one. We are saving more money every month, which was awesome for our Christmas budget! We are putting less waste in the landfills, which makes me feel like I’m actually doing something to help save our planet. We are putting no more chemicals on our children and it has opened our eyes to other ways to be a more “natural” parent.

bai bum

Baileigh LOVES showing off her fluff bum! As soon as I get a new diaper prepped and put on her, I ask her to model it and show it to me. She puts her tiny (big) bum in the air every time! She giggles and giggles and does it some more! Seeing the joy she has showing me her new diaper is so wonderful. I know she probably doesn’t realize that its new (well, maybe since I wave it around and have a happy dance once the mailman comes) but seeing her little smiles just to humor me is awesome! I ffel like she’s such a girly girl getting excited for new clothes! πŸ˜‰

cutie

Something else that I love about my cloth diapers, ORGANIZATION. I have never been a good organizer. I can sit there for hours and do it but a week later, its full of clutter again. With cloth diapers, I feel like that option just isn’t available! I HAVE to fold and stuff diapers or I’m going to regret it later. I have to keep it all together in one spot and all sorted out by type for whichever mood I’m in that day. In some ways, cloth diapers have actually helped me organize other parts of my life. I need to keep the laundry going so I don’t have a bunch to do on cloth diaper laundry days. I have to wash diapers a few times a week or poor Bai won’t have anything to catch her poop!

organization

Aubrey loves cloth diapers too! She loves helping mommy on “Diaper Laundry Days!” This is literally how she learned how to sort: Bamboo inserts here, microfiber inserts there, charcoal bamboo over here, prefolds over there… etc. And she got good at it quick! If I try to help her, she tells me, “No no no mommy. Me do it for you. Me help you.” And then she gives me that beautiful little Aubrey smile. She also helps me when I go to stuff them. We put one microfiber and one charcoal bamboo insert in each pocket diaper. She’ll hand me one of each all put together and ready for me to stuff them. She’s such a good helper!! πŸ™‚

aubrey

I think its funny that I love using cloth diapers. I never would have seen myself buying them, using them, or even thinking they were adorable. And now I can happily admit: I am addicted to cloth diapers! My stash is bigger than it should be and I am ALWAYS looking for a new diaper to try out or a new brand to lust over. My husband even loves using cloth! He’s had friends come over (non-married, no kids, no girlfriends, ultimate bachelors) and he’ll start telling THEM about cloth diapers. Like honey…. they don’t care. They don’t have kids and probably won’t for another 5-10 years! He loves the fact that we’ve saved some money and can either sell them or use them for future babies (or both!). And I honestly think he loves them because I do. It is now a part of me that will never go away. I can totally see myself lusting over some diapers on Cotton Babies when my kids are grown up and buying them for my future grandchildren that are still years and years and years away. I can really see us never going back to dispoables. Cloth diapers are in our family to stay!!

What do you LOVE about cloth diapers and why? Do your kids love their diapers or their siblings’ diapers? And what about the husband? Is he a good cloth helper?

Plum Organics Review

In our house, we LOVE Plum Organics! It is a treat because I don’t buy it often but that’s because my girls would beg me for 3 a day as long as they were in our fridge!

plum2

This is a picture from the last time I bought Plum Organics pouches… I bought A LOT! And I can say this little stash was gone in about a week, maybe two. I love Plum because the ingredients are minimal. What’s on front of the pouch, is what’s in the pouch. Simple. I feel very comfortable giving these to my kids because I know what’s in them or at least the company has made me feel like I do. And I like knowing what exactly is going into my kids’ system. I am also a firm believer of “you get what you pay for.” These pouches are over $1 each at the grocery store and you can buy 12 of them for just over $15 (in most varieties) on Amazon. We have been buying Plum Organic’s food pouches for the last 2 years and have also tried their other snacks for babies and toddlers.

For Babies:

  • Little Yums Teething Wafers
  • Little Cremes
  • Super Puffs
  • Various Pouches

For Tots:

  • Fiddlesticks
  • Bistro Bowls
  • Teensy Fruits
  • Yogurt Dippers
  • Mish Mash
  • Various Pouches

For Kids:

  • Fruit and Veggie Shredz
  • Fruit Shredz
  • Fruit Straws
  • Grammy Sammy
  • Jammy Sammy
  • Mashups
  • Morning Mashups
  • Slam Dunx
  • Yo’ Drops

These faces don’t lie. They love their Plum Organics!

Ufill Reusable Pouch Review

ufill6

I’m not going to lie… I was a little nervous about these ones. In my mind, I thought they were once use pouches since they had the tamper proof seals. I looked on their website and they are reusable! You can easily wash these like you would the other reusable pouches I have looked at. They are top rack dishwasher safe, freezer safe, and kid proof. I love that the spout is on the top and Baileigh appreciated that too! πŸ™‚ She knew how to use it without any help from sissy or mommy.

ufill4 ufill3

Aubrey didn’t mind where the spout was because she was fine with the spout on the side or wherever it was. But I’m sure these were easier to hold anyways.

ufill2 ufill ufill5

These pouches are reasonably priced and they come in a ton of different sets. You can buy a 3 pack if you prefer a small amount to try or you can buy a pack of 100 if you use them regularly. I like that they come in bigger packs because you could always use them for parties for toddlers, preschools, daycares, etc. I think it would be awesome to get some unsweetened applesauce, put some in these, and have daycares use them in the infant/toddler rooms. (I used to work in an infant room at a daycare. This would have been very handy come snacktime instead of spoon feeding 5 babies applesauce!!) Just sayin… πŸ˜‰

Yesterday, I saw a horrible video going around on Facebook with some bugs inside the store bought pouches. I was a little grossed out, especially since I was planning on reviewing a few of those pouches as well. I still intend to do a few reviews of those pouches, but I will wait to do that specific company until I have heard more about that situation. It did, however, make me feel like I’ve been doing a better thing with making my kids’ pouches and using the reusable ones. You just don’t know what is in the food unless you make it yourself. Its sad that we have to think that way these days. I know my parents didn’t have to worry about all the stuff that we’re finding in food now. And now for the scaling system:

Rating Scale for Reusable and Grocery Bought Pouches 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high)

Ease of Use: For me, 5. Aubrey, 5. Baileigh, 5.

Price: Set of 6, $18.99 -4

Convenience: 3. It is reusable so you do have to fill it before using.

Pros: Reusable, Recyclable, Easy to Clean, Freezer Safe, Holds a lot -5

Cons: One Color Selection -1

Overall Rating (1-5): 4.4

CJ’s BUTTer Review #2

My first review was of CJ’s BUTTer just a month ago. And it was a hit! For a few weeks, it was my most looked at post. Thank you!! πŸ™‚ Since I’ve written that review, I received a sample pack from the company with the following scents: Warm Vanilla Cake, Pink Sugar, Monkey Farts, Mango, Sugar and Mint, Blueberry Crumble, Lavender and Tea Tree, Sweet Orange, and Narwhales and Unicorns. Since receiving these, I’ve used them for many other things than just rash cream on a little red baby bum. I’ve used them as a leave in conditioner for Aubrey and myself, to fix static hair issues, as lotion for eczema, as baby lotion right out of the bath, and as face cream. I can honestly say I love this stuff!!! You can use it on EVERYTHING! It is the must have product in our household right now. And I highly suggest it becomes your must have product! Please go here to read my first review on it! Have you used CJ’s BUTTer in your house? What did you use it for and how did you like it??

Dinkledooz Cloth Diaper Review

For about a month, we have been reviewing a Dinkledooz Cloth Diaper. And by we… I mean me and miss Baileigh. She is loving all these new diapers to try. (She’s totally a girl and loves trying new “clothes” on and I guess a new pretty diaper falls into that category!)

About Dinkledooz

Dinkledooz are pocket diapers that come with 2 different size microfiber inserts. They are made with an inner of a soft cotton micro-fleece and an outer layer of 1.5 mil PUL. They are a one size diaper that can fit a little 8lb baby and grow to fit a 35lb toddler.

dinkledooz1

dinkledooz2 dinkledooz3

I may or may not have said this before, but Baileigh is a super heavy wetter. We are having a super hard time when it comes to naptime and bedtime because we just can’t find the right combo to hold all her pee in. When I try out a new diaper, it first needs to meet the requirement of working for 2-3 hours of playtime before being tried for nap time. I literally have a little process when it comes to experimenting with diapers for her. Dinkledooz did, in fact, hold up well during playtime! The next challenge was 2 different nap times. When I did these naps, I made sure to use only the 2 inserts that it came with. It did great during both naps as well!! πŸ™‚ I did not try this diaper for overnight because I was worried of leaks at night. The amount of inserts that I’ve had to use for pockets was well more than two so this particular diaper with only the two inserts certainly would not have worked out. I love how soft the inside is and how well it has washed. It feels just as soft as before the first use. I really like the shape of the diaper as well and how it didn’t seem to add too much bulk to her bum! If I had to give this diaper a rating, out of 5, I would give it 4.5 stars with no problem. They’re made very well and not too pricey. Currently you can buy them here for $15.95 per diaper or buy them in packs to save a little money. I highly recommend these diapers! πŸ™‚ And now, for the adorable pictures of miss Bai wearing one!
