Spray Pal Review

If you’re a cloth diapering mama, chances are you’ve heard of Spray Pal. If not… man are you missing out! When we started cloth diapering, the biggest thing I was afraid of was poop. Poop is a big thing with cloth diapering because you actually have to deal with it. I knew right away that we would be getting a diaper sprayer for our main bathroom and using it always. This just became one of my favorite cloth diapering accessory!

Spray Pal was created by a mom and dad team when they realized how much poopy toilet water splashed all over their bathroom when spraying diapers off. They are a small business working in their home (and garage!) and also made in the USA. Put all that together, and that is one of the best kinds of companies to support, if you ask me!! 🙂

Now onto my review…. This thing is AMAZING. Could I be over exaggerating? No. I hate poop. It used to make me gag. Being a mom of two toddlers, I deal with a lot of poop. And this made my job just a tad bit easier. Here you can see me wearing a toddler (because sometimes we need held after a good poop, I guess?) and spraying down a diaper. No mess. No fuss. Just getting the dirty job done without getting dirty! 🙂

spraypal5 spraypal6

Spray Pal is also super easy to clean. I wipe it down every other day or so with a Clorox wipe really quick just to keep the germs at bay. You can unclip the snaps to squeeze out the extra water that built up in the diaper. I honestly haven’t done that because I just kinda roll the diaper because its easier for me to throw in my wet bag all rolled up. I also like to keep mine ready at all times for action since poopy diapers can happen up to three times a day! I don’t have time to really set up my equipment, so that works for me. I keep it on a towel that I switch out once a week on the floor next to the toilet. It took some getting used to for the kids to not mess with it. But once I told them it had “poopy yuckies” on it, that was it. No more wanting to touch the poopy yuckies! LOL 🙂

Overall, this is an awesome tool to have for any cloth diapering family. I honestly wouldn’t recommend living without it. Is that extreme? Maybe. But for retailing at only $25.00, you can still easily save money while cloth diapering. This is a family owned, small business, made in the USA so it’s a business I think everyone should support. Spray Pal also has some adorable t-shirts for toddlers that have the #makeclothmainstream hashtag. Its super cute and Bai wears it often!! Check out Spray Pal’s website HERE and be sure to like them on Facebook HERE. 🙂

Product Review Thursday: SprayPal T-Shirts

product review thursday

I have posted many pictures of my kids in cloth diaper advocacy shirts. I’ve even tagged the amazing company behind them, but I felt like a review was in order! Baileigh has one #makeclothmainstream t-shirt and a “Changing the world one cloth diaper at a time.” Aubrey also has the “Changing…” and they wear them regularly. Finally, they started making adult sized t-shirts… And you better believe I got myself one of each! I mean, how could I not?!

These shirts are great for toddlers. They come in plain black with white lettering. This obviously minimizes stains and messes that you would usually find with a white shirt. Black is a very toddler friendly color, in my opinion. These t-shirts come in toddler sizes 18 months, 2T, and 3T. The adult sizes go from Women’s Small to Women’s XL and Men’s Small to Men’s 2XL. I am hoping that they’ll eventually add in some infant sizing and older children’s sizes. It may just be the cloth diaper advocate in me! 😉 Plus, I’d much rather support SprayPal and buy from them then needing to order cloth diaper gear from CafePress or another big name shirt maker that isn’t going to really make cloth mainstream.

And while you’re taking a look at their adorable shirts, take a look at their exclusive Lalabye Baby diaper! Goodnight Moon is such a beautiful color! The light blue snap option is no longer available like what I have pictured, but you can get the same blue color as the diaper or silver snaps- both a great option!! 🙂

And just another little plug- if you haven’t ordered the Men of the Baby Industry Calendar yet that they helped create (and Mr. SprayPal is Mr. September!)- DO IT! Profits are going to Giving Diapers Giving Hope and they’re $20. You can get 50% off if you use one of the coupon codes which are listed on the product page. Here’s Mr. Spray Pal’s page:

End of Summer Giveaway Day 2- Spray Pal

It is no secret that I love my Spray Pal! I wrote a review post here in 2014 and it has been one of my “must-have” cloth diapering accessories ever since! I also wrote another review on the Cotton Babies blog here last year.  And this year… I made this Flipagram to show just how *easy* it is to use a Spray Pal!

The Spray Pal is one of the most used cloth diapering accessories in our home. It’s used on a daily basis and has saved my bathroom from many huge messes! And let me tell you…. Any mess I don’t have to clean up, I’m thankful for. #MomLife And I praise my Spray Pal’s existence every single day. I love it because it’s also an affordable accessory so it’s an easy go-to baby shower gift if you know someone that wants to cloth diaper! 😉

For the next two-ish weeks, you can enter the End of Summer Giveaway. I’m giving away an awesome bundle to ONE lucky winner. And as you may have guessed… A Spray Pal is one of those awesome items!

Why You NEED a SprayPal in Your Life!

**WARNING: This post is going to talk about poop. And a lot of it!**

Sure, you can get by cloth diapering using the old dunk and swoosh method or getting a scrapper thing. But in today’s crazy world where there aren’t enough minutes in the day, why would you want to do that?? In my family, solid baby or toddler poop is a mystical myth that happens in every other house but mine. We’re always left dealing with peanut butter mushy poop no matter the age! Gross, right? That was actually the thing that grossed me out about cloth diapering. I hate poop. In order for both my husband and myself to get on board with cloth diapers, we had to look at the less mess options. This is how a diaper sprayer came into our lives.

We looked at sprayers and we weren’t happy about the cost. They aren’t cheap, but certainly not what I’d call expensive. We ended up searching the internet and did a DIY version from supplies at our local hardware store. It was simple, affordable, and got the job done. I was so excited to not have to figure out what exactly to do with the poop. But this entered an entirely new problem. I had water EVERYWHERE! And not just any water. Oh no. It was nasty, poop splattered water. Talk about yuck! I started hating my sprayer. After all, it was supposed to make it so I wasn’t dealing with the poop as much. But in the end, I was not only spraying off a diaper but it also had to practically clean the entire bathroom afterwards!

Then the wonderful Spray Pal saved our cloth diapering journey. You can read my review on it here.

Long story short, the Spray Pal is well worth the money. It may seem like just another expense and not a necessity but it is something that I firmly believe every cloth diapering family should have. It’s like having snappis. Do you need a snappi to hold your prefold or flat together? No. But it sure does make your life easier. And that’s exactly what the Spray Pal does! Look how easy it is to deal with a poopy diaper while taking care of your baby or toddler at the same time!! 😉

Lalabye Baby Cloth Diaper Review

I’m doing something different for this Lalabye Baby cloth diaper review! There’s a video! 🙂 Now, be a little nice because this is my very first video and I totally recorded it and messed with it about 20 times! 😉

A few things I forgot to mention in the video:

  • Lalabye Baby diapers are made with TPU, not PUL. This is a higher quality fabric and is also better for the environment.
  • Lalabye Baby diapers should fit babies from around 6 pounds to 35 pounds.

And here are what some other people had to say about Lalabye Baby when asked what they like/love about them!

  • EVERYTHING!! I used to have a stash full of big name brand diapers but then I tried a lalabye thanks to spraypal and was immediately hooked. They’re super trim, bright rich solid colors and fun prints, LOVE the color coded snaps, 2 bamboo inserts, really great price, and most importantly an amazing momma behind the company! I sold off all of my name brand diapers to get more lalabyes and I couldn’t be happier!
  • Love the bamboo inserts and the trimness of the Lalabye. Great price for a quality diaper too.
  • This is our go-to diaper! Love the bamboo inserts, super trim fit, bright colors and contrasting snaps, the option to use it as pocket or ai2, the owner is SUPER sweet and I could go on and on! I have a 4 month old and a 2.5 year old and these diapers fit great on both! My 4 month old has been wearing them since 8 weeks and I was impressed with the fit. Love the color coded snaps as well, my hubby isn’t a fan of snaps but with the color system he can get a good fit without the gues work. Did I mention I love these diapers?!
  • I love how trim and absorbent they are! And who wouldn’t love all the bright fun colors.
  • These diapers are high quality with an affordable price tag. Trim, highly absorbant and super fun colors. We love them!
  • Great quality, love the overall look & fit… also that I can use as AI2 or pocket. And the wonderful all-bamboo inserts! Oh, and can’t forget the snaps. The fit my chubby 8 week old beautifully on 2nd rise from the bottom. I also feel that they are a good value because they are under $20 and include the 2 bamboo inserts.
  • I agree with everything previously said. Trim, super absorbent, great fit (I put one on a 5lb 14oz preemie), beautiful colors and prints, great price, quality product (unlike my big name brands who’s elastics haven’t even made it 9mos), the tpu is so soft, and I love the rainbow snaps! The rainbow snap system got my husband and mil on board with snap diapers! Also, the owner is a great lady who I love to support.

So you can see, Lalabye Baby Diapers are AMAZING! I urge everyone to just try one! You really won’t be sorry! Interested in trying one? Enter the giveaway below for a chance to win a $20 gift card just in time for their next stocking!! 🙂

Babyhawk Oh Mei Review

I am always looking for something different to review. When I found the Babyhawk Oh Mei carrier, I knew I had to try it!! The Oh Mei is like the best of both worlds: a soft structured carrier and a Mai Tei. The bottom part of it is a buckle and you wrap the top like a Mei Tai. I won’t lie, I was nervous at first because I had never used a Mei Tai carrier. I had only worn Bai in a soft structured carrier or a wrap. I came to find out that it was easier that I had thought and started to wonder why I waited this long! This is now, officially, my go-to carrier.

babyhawk3 babyhawk2

When I say it’s my go-to carrier, I mean this thing gets A LOT of use. When we run errands, it’s in my car. When we’re home, it’s on my dining room table. Bai brings it to me and tells me she wants “uppy” or “wrapped” and it has become her go-to carrier as well. When I say it’s in my car… it’s there with me and goes in the store with me. I always ask Bai if she wants to go in the cart or if she wants wrapped. Usually she wants wrapped.

The Oh Mei came with tons of sleepy dust! Bai can comfortably fall asleep and stay asleep in this carrier. I like that its so easy for her to nap while we’re out and about. I can not tell you how many trips we’ve had to take during nap time. I have also successfully taken her out of the carrier and transferred her to the car seat without waking her up. I have no clue how I did it, but it really did happen!! As a matter of fact, I’ve been able to do some awesome stuff with this carrier. I was able to use the Spray Pal while baby wearing very easily. And I was able to tandem carry with the Boba during a stressful evening babysitting!

spraypal5 boba 4g 3

This is the carrier that I highly recommend to friends and family. I love that even though Bai is almost 2, it still fits her knee to knee. Not many other standard carriers do!! The Oh Mei is just wonderful! It’s comfortable for me, comfortable for her, and convenient to put on. I can not say enough great things about it! They retail for between $115 and $120. You can also have yours custom made with your own fabric or a variety of fabrics that are readily available. If you want yours right away, there are a few that are ready to ship. 🙂

If you want to purchase a Babyhawk Oh Mei carrier, you can do so HERE, find instructions on use HERE, and like their Facebook HERE. 🙂 Be sure to enter the giveaway below!! 🙂

Bumgenius Freetime Review

If you know me personally in the cloth diapering world, you know this is my FAVORITE diaper. Once I “discovered” it, I made an entire stash with it plus some. (Yes, I’ll admit my stash could probably diaper three babies as it is pictured below…) I love bumgenius in general so this is just the best and most convenient diaper for me.

The Bumgenius Freetime is an All-In-One diaper. It has two flaps with microfiber lined with stay dry material. The flaps are the best part about the AIO, in my opinion, because they take less time to air dry than most other AIO diapers. I try to do diaper laundry in the evening and line dry these after I get the kids to bed. Most of them ary dry in the morning when I go to get the second diaper of the day. Some people put them in the dryer for a few minutes, but I try to not to. However, if I am in a little hurry, I have put them in the dryer for 15 minutes or so in order to start the drying process, let the elastic cool down a bit, and then line dry them the rest of the way.

20140416-180927.jpg 20140416-181046.jpg

This diaper is amazing for overnight. Only one or two other diapers that I have reviewed in the past have also worked for overnight. I can honestly say this is a go to diaper if you have a heavy wetter. Because it’s an AIO, it’s also convenient. No stuffing, snapping, folding. It’s already put together and ready to go. Personally, we fold the front “flap” down and then the back flap. This makes it super easy to spray off poop. (In our Spray Pal, of course!)

I also like the flaps because I feel like you can still customize the absorbancy for your needs. Its easy to add a bamboo or hemp insert under the flaps if you feel it won’t last through the night or you’re preparing for a longer than normal car ride. I also feel like this diaper is trim. I think most cloth diapers are super bulky and can make baby’s bum look funny and huge, but in the Freetimes, Bai’s bum is really in between the sposie diapered bum and the big fluffy bum. You can see how trim the diaper looks on her in the picture below in the newest print, Audrey.

Want a chance to win one of these diaper? Keep checking back as I’ll be posting a giveaway this evening!! 🙂

Please Note: I received one of the diapers for purpose of this review. No other compensation was made. These opinions are 100% my own and completely honest!!

Cloth Diaper Accessories: The Must-Have List

There are many cloth diaper accessories on the market. Some are more helpful than others while some are, in my opinion, a must-have. You can cloth diaper on the cheap without many of these amazing products but I personally love these 6 must have cloth diaper accessories because they make my life just a tad bit easier.

  • Diaper Sprayers
  • Spray Pal.
  • Smart Bottoms Wet Bags.
  • Fleece Liners.
  • Fresh Wave packs
  • Snappis

Diaper Sprayer

Cloth diapers are fun and all…. until the baby has peanut butter poop. Poop that just won’t plop off and is no longer exclusivly breastmilk poop needs a little something extra. For this- I love my diaper sprayer. There are many diaper sprayers on the market to choose from but we decided to go the DIY route and made a sprayer from the materials found at our local hardware store. It was pretty easy and it cost us about the half the price. (I would, however, purchase one next time.)

Spray Pal

I have done quite a few Spray Pal reviews in the past three years- because really, I have no idea if I’d still be cloth diapering without it. Spraying off the poop is a cloth diaper reality. Afterall, the first question people usually ask is, “What do you do with the poop?” For some people, this means dunk & swish. For others, this means having a designated poop scraper. For many, it’s the sprayer attached to the toilet. The sprayer can be a little messy so the Spray Pal saves my bathroom time after time.

Smart Bottoms Wet Bags

Smart Bottoms wet bags are truly my favorite of all the wet bags I’ve owned. They’re heavy duty and trap in the stinkiest of stinky diapers while we’re out and about. They’re the perfect size to use for a few hours out of the house or all day. I even use them for swim suits in the summer time!

Fleece Liners

Where have these been all my life?! I loathe stained diapers. It’s weird- I know. But I just am not a fan. But I’m also kind of lazy and don’t want to put in all the work of sunning my diapers either. Fleece liners are basically my best friends. I put these in all my natural fiber diapers (since those stain easier) and the poop is *mostly* contained on them. No poop on the diapers themselves means no stains on them! Score! Plus- They make it super easy to spray off of diapers that have flaps that don’t stay in place. Double score!!! 😉

Fresh Wave

Diapers stink. It doesn’t matter if you use disposable diapers or cloth diapers. They just stink. Fresh Wave odor eliminators remove the stink naturally. Instead of just covering the odor up, they get rid of it! It makes the room smell fresh. I use them in the bathroom and in the baby’s room. I also use the little packs between the cloth diaper pail and the liner and in the trash can between the can and the bag.

I don’t use prefolds and covers very often- but when I do, I love my Snappis! They’re so much more convenient than trying to use diaper pins. But let me warn you- these suckers do hurt if you step on them…. Worse than a Lego. Prefolds with a Snappi and cover was my favorite option when Jackson was a newborn- as you can see tiny newborn chicken legs above. 😉

Holiday Gift Guide 2016- For Baby/Toddlers

For Baby & Toddlers

*Please note that this link does contain affiliate links.

10. FunBites. FunBites are a great tool for babies and toddlers! Kids just seem to enjoy eating more when it looks like fun! Use FunBites to cut up various foods for babies, toddlers, and kids! Create bite-sized fun with FunBites!

Amber Teething Necklace 2

9. Amber Teething Necklace. If you have a teething child, I just know this is already on your wish list! If not, put it on there for your little one. Amber necklaces have literally saved my sanity during some teething moments with both Baileigh and Jackson.

8. Spray Pal. A Spray Pal isn’t so much as a gift for baby…. But a gift for yourself. You can just claim that it’s a gift for baby. 😉 I don’t know if we would have continued cloth diapering without the Spray Pal. Just like the amber was a lifesaver during teething, the Spray Pal was a lifesaver for all the poop I had to deal with on a daily basis.

7. Freshly Picked Moccasins. Oh my word. So, Jackson is on the verge of walking. He can stand by himself in the middle of the room and he can walk holding onto things. Baby Jack also loathes socks. Freshly Picked moccasins are not only adorable, but they’re soft-soled for his developing feet and they make him keep his socks on. Win win for everyone. (well, win for me!) These moccasins are leather and they come in many cute colors and designs.

6. Vtech Smart Wheels. Jackson received a few of these toys for his first birthday and I can easily say they’re his favorite. They’re my favorite too! They talk, make noises, and they sing songs. There are so many different vehicles and a variety of different playsets. It’s so hard for me to not grab him a new vehicle whenever we’re out and about. (I seriously need to grab him the bulldozer, tractor, and train- they’re just too cute!)

5. Cotton Babies- bumGenius NEW Elemental.  bumGenius just redesigned their natural all-in-one diaper, and they knocked it out of the park! Read my review on the Cotton Babies’ blog HERE. This diaper is trim fitting, super absorbent, and easy to use. I’m always happy when I don’t have to stuff a diaper or snap an insert in it. I just can’t say enough good things about it- I’ll be buying some more for Jackson, that’s for sure!!!

4. Melissa and Doug Puzzle. If you haven’t grabbed a Melissa and Doug puzzle yet- do it. Run, don’t walk. These wooden puzzles are fantastic for kids! Although Jackson is a year old, I purchased two of these knob puzzles for him. They’re a great option for a first puzzle and then you can continue to grab other Melissa and Doug puzzles as your child grows. The chunky puzzles, peg puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles are a hit in our house!

3. Chompy Chic Babywearing Teether or Pacifier Clip.  If you didn’t know already, I’m a ChompyChic ambassador- because they’re amazing. This is a a work-at-home mom company on Etsy and she makes some amazing chewable teethers for baby carriers, necklaces for moms and kids with sensory sensitivities, and pacifier clips. I can’t even tell you how many of them I own. (You should definitely get this dinosaur if you have a boy and this butterfly if you have a baby girl. SUPER CUTE!!!)

2. MommyCon Baby & Toddler Tees.  Look at these tees! They’re basically amazing. My favorite shirt is the Milk & Milk and Milk shirts. Jackson will basically have it in every size while he’s still nursing. Other options are the Smash the Patriarchy shirt (also in a onesie) and the I am a loved baby in a onesie.

  1. EZPZ Mat! I absolutely love our EZPZ mats! We have a Mini Mat, a Snack Mat, and I’m planning on adding a Happy Mat to our collection! I use them at home and bring them along to restaurants. Jackson loves eating a snack while playing on the floor, but a traditional bowl will just get thrown around, making a huge mess on the floor! I put a snack mat down on our wood floors and he can’t move it, therefore he only eats the food and doesn’t really play with it! Score!

So Much Going On!!

Here in the Fluff Bum’s household, there’s A LOT going on!!

    • I have giveaways galore lined up along with product reviews just for all of you! You’ll see many well known products: Spray-Pal, Boba, Diaper Dawgs, and BabyHawk to just name a few. And then there are a few WAHM businesses: Rumpkinz, Renegade Honey Herbs, and Family Cloth Wipes.

    • I have started blogging for Cotton Babies. My first post will be up later this month and don’t worry, I’ll have plenty of links on the Facebook page. I’m just so excited to be blogging somewhere else too! I love to write and talk about my kids. The fact that this is becoming an occupation for me is just amazing!!

    • Home renovation. We just renovated our kitchen and turned a living room into an open dining room. The house is still a mess, the remodel is not done and may not be for a while. I have a lot of work ahead of me at home with putting an entire room back together and cleaning the mass amount of dust that is currently spread across my home.

    • Mommy duties. It’s finally getting nice out in Ohio. My kids love playing outside so I’m starting to find the time between going outside to play with the kids, cleaning up the said mess in my house, and get time to use products and write. It’s going to be a juggling act until I get everything into a routine! 🙂

I feel so blessed to be so busy with things that I love: my family, my house, and the blog. I’m working with some amazing companies and awesome people!! I could have never dreamed this would be my life. And now that it is, I just need to stand back sometimes and go: WOAH!! 🙂 So now that you know what’s going on in my life: what’s going on in yours??? 🙂
